Abstract

The reisado is one of the popular poetic forms of the Cariri region. Between the colorful clothing and the clang of swords, men and women perform and give meaning to the most diverse characters, such as Jaraguá, Lobisomem, Guriabá and Doida. Each character is considered an narrative inter-act that performs in their respective plays - a mixture of poetic song and artistic staging. Based on this understanding, this study aimed to reflect on the pre-aesthetic configuration and artistic form of one of the aforementioned narrative inter-act. Throughout the analytical and reflective process, it was possible to understand how the reisado is structured as an artistic form, what its main narrative interacts are and how the poetic character is established from the oral to the performative. We mainly used the contributions of Mestres Raimundo and Antônio (2023), from Reisado Discípulos do Mestre Pedro, and Mestre Dodô (2023), from Reisado São Francisco. Theoretical contributions included Mikhail Bakhtin (1987), Ruth Finnegan (2008) and Ignez Ayala (2015).
