Main Article Content

Abstract

This article search some elements of Antônio Furdela’s prose, through the reading of the work Saga d’Ouro. Using elements of history as a source of his writing, together with the fictional experimentation characteristic of a tradition of writers who subvert historical matter, the writer presents the history of the Empire of Mwenemutapa, as well as the relations between the region and the portugueses. The writer represents one of the prominent voices of Mozambican literature that has gained prominence today, being one of the winners of the Eugênio Lisboa literary prize. His writing echoes a tradition of writers who, over the last few decades, have sought to develop a literary project in post-colonial Mozambique.
