Abstract

This article seeks to use the concept of hegemonic imaginary to propose a concept of political cycle capable of assessing periods of medium and long duration from a political perspective. This paper aims to combine the concept of hegemonic imaginary with the elements of the political cycle understood as actors, agendas, and institutions through the concept of event. . To better present the work, we decided to divide it into six parts. After a brief introduction, we present the debate on the political cycle and the gap we have found. In the third section, we discuss the concept of hegemonic imaginary. In the fourth, we explain how the articulation of the two notions can be useful from a theoretical-analytical point of view. In the following section, we incorporate the concepts of event and critical juncture into the debate. We conclude the article with a schematic picture and some final remarks.
