Teaching Geography in Youth and Adult Education (YAE) is challenging and goes beyond the confines of the classroom. In an effort to alleviate the learning difficulties of these individuals, this research aimed to investigate the contributions of applying a Didactic Sequence (DS) based on David Ausubel's Theory of Meaningful Learning (TML). The DS utilized conceptual maps (CM), proposed by Joseph Novak, for the teaching of Geography in YAE. The research was of an applied nature with a qualitative approach, conducted with 17 students in Module III - New High School Education. As outlined in the DS, CM on the topic of Industrialization were initially created by students on paper and later using Cmap Cloud software. Data collection took place through the administration of questionnaires and journal notes. Subsequently, the data were analyzed following the assumptions of TML, and the results indicated an improvement in the students' level of understanding as they constructed CM. Despite excessive absenteeism, students' participation and engagement increased throughout the research. The analysis of final questionnaires and the progression in CM construction suggested evidence of Meaningful Learning, emphasizing the effectiveness of the pedagogical approach adopted in the Didactic Sequence.
