Abstract

This article aims to analyze the absolute limits of capital in the process of structural crisis, based on the theoretical formulations of István Mészáros. The investigation used the historical-materialist and dialectical approach, based on Marxism, and had bibliographic research as the methodological procedure. It analyzes the fundamental determinations of the structural crisis and highlights the activation of the absolute limits of the capital system. For the permanence of the movement of expanded self-reproduction of capital, the system demands total control of the material base and a political command that is presented through the state. The corrective actions of capital (in the economy and in politics) contribute to the maintenance of the system of displacement of contradictions. However, this mechanism does not become efficient in the face of the structural crisis and absolute limits. We emphasize that the constitution of the capital relationship prevents the resolution of these problems and that they can only be eliminated with the overcoming of capital.
