O presente artigo busca demonstrar como a cultura jurídica criminal, mais precisamente os principais juristas e professores de Direito Criminal, das Faculdades de Direito do Rio de Janeiro, Viveiros de Castro, Lima Drummond e Esmeraldino Bandeira absorveram e aderiram aos postulados do positivismo criminológico, sobretudo italiano, no período da Primeira República.

Abstract
This article tries to demonstrate how the criminal legal culture, more precisely the main jurists and Criminal Law professors from the Faculties of Law, in Rio de Janeiro, Viveiros de Castro, Lima Drummond e Esmeraldino Bandeira absorbed and adhered to the criminological postulates, especially Italian Positivism, in the period of the First Republic.
