Resumo
A pesquisa tem como objetivo identificar as tensões sociais e políticas no final do século XIX no Brasil, a partir da experiência de Benjamim Mota. A hipótese principal a ser sustentada é que a trajetória singular deste anarquista contribui para ilustrar a complexa formação da classe operária brasileira. Assim como, proporciona a investigação da advocacia como uma prática de intervenção no mundo social da Primeira República.

Abstract
The aim of the research is to identify the social and political tensions at the end of 19th century in Brazil, from the experience of Benjamin Mota. The main hypothesis to be sustained is that the singular path of this anarchist contributes to illustrate the complex formation of the Brazilian working class. As well as provide the investigation of advocacy as a practice of intervention in the social world of the First Republic.
