Abstract
We will trace the connection between witchcraft and women on the Brazilian colonial period through one secular criminal case of witchcraft indictment, in the mid to late 18th Century Curitiba’s Village. This path begins in a “witch hunt” panoramic view at Europe, distinguishing Portuguese differences, comparing metropolitan and colonial witchcraft and examining the misogynistic mentality in the Colony.
