Este artigo é um estudo comparativo entre indústrias automobilísticas, que tem por objetivo analisar como a montadora Fiat, situada em Betim (MG), e as montadoras Ford, Toyota e Volkswagen, situadas no ABC Paulista (SP), administram a Participação nos Lucros e Resultados (PLR). Para tanto, buscou-se compreender os mecanismos de gestão compartilhada e a adoção da remuneração variável como meio de contraprestação pelos serviços, a partir da regulamentação da PLR no ordenamento jurídico brasileiro. Foram analisados os Acordos Coletivos firmados entre cada montadora e os seus respectivos sindicatos, registrados entre os anos de 2009 e 2019, junto ao atual Ministério da Economia. Os resultados obtidos permitiram concluir que a aplicação da PLR pelas montadoras observa os comandos da Lei nº 10.101/2000. No caso das montadoras avaliadas, a PLR se configura como um meio de recompensa para o trabalhador e leva em consideração o seu desempenho na prestação laboral.
