The PLR programs allow workers to control part of the wages and integrate them into the production process, favoring the shared management of the company. In the Brazilian legal system, the PLR was regulated by Law 10.101/2000, in compliance with the provisions of the Constitution of the Republic/1988, although it was for a long time provided for in national legislation. In this paper, the aim is to verify whether the introduction of PLR in collective labor instruments is in accordance with the objectives proposed by the legal norm, or whether their use by employers is only a means of granting benefits to workers, without, however, increasing the burden of wages. In order to do so, we analyzed the collective labor contracts approved by the Metalworkers' Union of the Municipality of Contagem/MG, from 2000 to 2012, in order to verify the use of the PLR by the sector, whether consonants or not with the current legislation.
