Permanent call for reviewers

The Revista Publicum invites researchers to join its panel of peer reviewers. This is a rolling call, open throughout the year. Publicum is a digital journal (e-ISSN 2447-7982) published by the Law School of the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ). It releases two issues a year and accepts submissions on a continuous basis.

Requirements

Applications are open to researchers who hold:

  • a master’s or doctoral degree, or current enrolment in a doctoral programme, in the applied social sciences;
  • a publication record consistent with the editorial scope of the journal and with the standards CAPES applies when assessing graduate programmes in law.

Consistency is assessed from the curriculum registered on the Lattes Platform, the Brazilian national database of academic CVs. Selection also observes the limits on same-institution participation required by CAPES.

How to apply

Write to revistapublicum@gmail.com with “Chamada de pareceristas” in the subject line, exactly as written, and state:

  • full name and academic degree;
  • the institution where the doctorate was taken or is under way, and the year of completion or expected completion;
  • current institutional affiliations and the positions held;
  • email and postal address;
  • the address of the Lattes curriculum;
  • fields of interest for review;
  • a biographical note of up to 150 words (optional; the Lattes summary is used if none is supplied).

Duties

  • to complete up to two reviews a year, on time, with reasoned and impartial judgement;
  • to observe the editorial policies of the journal, in particular the Peer Review Policy and the Review Guidelines;
  • to comply with copyright law and with the confidentiality of the material under review;
  • to act in accordance with the standards of editorial and academic ethics, taking as reference the rules of CNPq and CAPES and, in addition, the COPE guidelines;
  • to declare to the Scientific Committee any conflict of interest concerning the work under review.

Disputes over these duties are decided by the Scientific Committee, which may remove a reviewer from the panel by final decision.

Rights

  • a certificate for each review completed, issued once the report is delivered;
  • a statement, available at any time, confirming membership of the reviewer panel, for use with universities or funding agencies.

Review work is unpaid. As the journal is published electronically, no printed copies are sent.
