Abstract

Charles Darwin was a scientist who lived  intensively the ideology of the  XIX century. This century was a  bourgeoisie  one,  where  the  liberal  ideology used to proclaim the human progress. The  legacy produced since the XVI century , with the Renaissance, the Scientific Revolution of the XVII century,  and the Enlightenment of the XVIII century, produced in the human being’s  mentality, the desire for knowledge, for the intellectual, social and economic progress, where the man’s remaining in the same position was not only seen as a social delay, but also as a mental delay. To justify the European imperialism over the other nations, Darwin brought his Evolution Theory to attest  the white superiority. Until today, this theory brings polemics. But we will see on it a big aim of the human race: to  become developed.
