Abstract

A discussion about the current climate conditions on Earth is proposed here. Issues involving planet’s future have been extensively investigated in nowadays. Many researchers have discussed the source of climate change on Earth, where two main approaches have been proposed to explain it. The former indicates the human intervention as a main cause of the climate changes, which involves the employment of fossil fuels and the growth in agriculture. It increases the quantity of CO2 on atmosphere and the temperature on Earth (called global warming). The later suggests a gradual global cooling of natural order as a cause of the climate changes. According it, the climate is mainly affected by climate forcing agents, like Sun and oceans. The human influence is negligible and provokes local changes, like microclimates and heat island effect. Finally, it is envisaged that within two decades the planet will be cooler. The proposed discussion is based on a bibliographic research extracted from reference works, current books and scientific papers. It emphasizes that scientific disagreements that attempt explain the climate changes source require further evidence and also must to cover real consequences of the studied process. Finally, one problem that is studied by many researchers can offer various explanations.

Keywords: scientific divergences, global warming, global cooling.
