Abstract

The article analyzes transnational migratory experiences of migratory youths in the cities of Barcelona and Porto Alegre paying attention to the intercessors that, in their complex and unique efforts, operate by encouraging   “migratory projects”.  Mapping “why” the interviewee youths left their home countries and chose the migration countries suggested some conceptual distinctions including the way in which “motives" and "desires" are interpreted.  Towards the end, it suggests some of the intervening elements  that potentially lead away from a binary logic of positive identification  based on  birthplace or migratory location, enabling us to visualize both personal and collective migratory efforts, expanding that to achieve privileged viewpoints  towards  understanding the subjectivities  emerging from contemporary migrations.
