Este artigo é uma série de reflexões sobre os poemas de Pedra do Sono (1942) e O engenheiro (1943), de João Cabral de Melo Neto, pensados como uma espécie de “eclipse literário” no projeto literário de seu ethos. Detidamente, só é possível vislumbrar como a dinâmica da “dicção seca”, quando analisada a disposição estrutural, morfológica, sintática e semântica de seus versos e estrofes, em favor da relação que há entre o texto estritamente literário e as intervenções de ordem linguística.
