Abstract

Edward Morgan Forster and George Orwell were great writers of the early 20th century, a century marked by two world wars and imperialism. Both authors experienced the war up close, as they both worked for the British Crown in different contexts. By investigating, in the light of the concepts of post-colonialism, how both authors represented their realities in relation to imperialism and also their experiences in a colony country, such as the then British India, it is possible to carry out a survey of their possible I/Other relationships and their positions on imperial resistance.
