Morning Song is one of the poems written by the American Sylvia Plath (1932-1963), included in the book Ariel, having been published posthumously in 1965 – it is the first poem contained in the book mentioned. Sylvia was part of modernism in American literature, largely within the confessionalist movement. Therefore, this article, in principle, provides some considerations regarding the literary panorama of the first decades of the 20th century – the moment in which the modernist movement is located; then, we seek to attest to the connection between Plath's life and work; Finally, Morning Song is thematically-structurally analyzed, locating marks that architect and constitute Plath's poetic-biographical labyrinth. As a theoretical framework, we used the writings of Plath (1965, 2017 and 2023) and the research of Gomes (2009), Rosenthal (1960), Soares (2009), among others.
