Resumen

O objetivo do artigo é o de fornecer uma revisão sistemática do papel do British Council na diplomacia cultural britânica, mapeando seus instrumentos de política, estrutura organizacional e atividades no exterior. Ao analisar a interação entre o British Council e a diplomacia cultural do Reino Unido, o artigo busca mostrar a relação entre o planejamento estratégico britânico e suas valências operacionais e atividades políticas, visando mostrar como as instituições culturais operam dentro de um viés de ensejo para a área da diplomacia cultural e do soft power, além de demostrar o papel do conselho como um veículo para a propaganda cultural britânica. Como metodologia, foi realizada uma análise bibliográfica sobre o papel do British Council para a diplomacia do Reino Unido, através de artigos e documentos que ilustram a relação entre o soft power britânico e o British Council como um todo.
