This article analyzes the broader characteristics of the rapprochement process between the United States and Saudi Arabia at the beginning of Trump’s second term. Based on his first-term experience with a three-pronged policy, the Republican president is pursuing a new framework involving strategic alignment with Israel, restoring trust among the Gulf States, and resuming a maximum-pressure strategy against Iran. In this context, the Saudi kingdom serves as a strategic partner in attracting investment and enhancing U.S. influence in the region. Through qualitative analysis of journalistic sources and official U.S. documents, this paper argues that the broader outlines of this contemporary approach are anachronistic because they do not correspond to the current regional political landscape.
