This article presents provisional results of a research project that compares 22 translations of Franz Kafka’s novella The Metamorphosis published in Brazil. The aim is to analyse them in relation to the source text, towards a future critical reading of all the different versions. The comparison is based on four representative example sentences from the three chapters, whose translations are additionally listed in four appendices.
