This present work is a reflection on the scientific doing and the role of language in the discourse of dissemination of knowledge. The proposition is to examine the effects that emerge from the relationship between conditions of discourse production, science, technology and media, analyzing the meanings that are generated and managed when knowledge is widely disseminated in large media spaces as well as in most restricted specialized spaces. In order to discuss the concepts of democratization and the spectacularization of knowledge considering the influence of other discursivities [and their memories] in the construction of these meanings and significations, we will be supported by the assumptions of Debord (1997), Guimarães (2003), Araújo (2004), Orlandi. (2010), Dias (2011) and Zoppi-Fontana (2017). It was concluded that the visibility granted to science in the media spaces is still necessary, although it (re)signifies its meaning to the general public – reducing it, sometimes, to its pragmatic aspect. And the presence of universities in electronic means of dissemination, despite being incipient, constitutes a form of resistance that has attempted to address itself not just in pairs, keeping the essence of scientific doing. We understand that it is necessary to promote the sliding of meanings in the order of dissemination criteria so that, instead of a clash of forces between media spaces and specialized media, there can be an expansion of discourse of scientific work for the effective and equitable visibility that can build other intelligibilities for the sake of a better society.
