Proper names in Paulo Leminski
Keywords:
Paulo Leminski. Proper names. Humor.Abstract
In this paper, we discuss how to interpret the use of proper names in the work of Paulo Leminski. Special attention is given to the relation between the proper name and the social process of identification and classification as well as to the subversive potential of humor associated to its use by Leminski. The analysis indicates that the use of humor in literary work is quite ambiguous, subversive, but also compromised because of the empathy involved in its reception.
