Marcos Siscar is a Professor at the Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP) and Professor at the Department of Literary Theory at the University of Campinas (Unicamp). In his latest book De volta ao fim: o “fim das vanguardas” como questão da poesia contemporânea (7Letras, 2015) he is interested in inquiring into the "end of the vanguards" less as a content of historical truth verifiable in second half of the twentieth century and another critical and discursive operation - with an appearance in texts, essays and poetry - that generates stories. It emphasizes a hypothesis that variants of the notion of end including crisis provide a starting point for what is at stake in the contemporary. His contribution to this dossier of the Revista Maracanan revolves around the "discourse of the crisis" rather than performative way than constative (as a notion of linguistics). In other words, "it works as a way of creating meaning, of interfering in the contemporary of relationships, of manipulating them ..." and not as a simplistic description. It is a contribution of distinct relevance to the current scenario.References
