Soccer blogs in Brazil and Argentina: the blogosphere as an extension of journalism

Abstract

Brazilian and Argentine news organizations provided footbalistic weblogs to their main sports columnists with the aim of generating interactivity and loyalty with the audience. Carried out an exploratory study that combined content analysis of 1328 comments, the article suggests that these blogs do not promote an appropriate interaction between the audience and its staffers.

He holds a Ph.D. by the Postgraduate Programme in Communication and Culture Contemporary Facom - Federal University of Bahia (UFBA), Salvador de Bahia, Brazi is also a professor of Communication with specialization in Advertising at the School of Applied Social Sciences (FACIS).
