Abstract

This paper wishes to discuss aspects of the political organization of social studies on sports in the fields of communication, anthropology and physical education in Brazil. Being a relatively young field of studies in Brazilian academy, the political organization of researchers still reveals a certain incipiency typical of a field in the making. After a short sketch of the main features of this field of studies, some elements for the development of its undeniable potential are presented.
