Abstract

This paper aims at pointing out the advantages of working in an integrated way in Technical High Schools, whose experience comes from the interdisciplinary extension project developed at the Federal Institute of Piauí (IFPI) - Campus Piripiri. The activity proposed by the subjects Philosophy, Literature and Clothing Manufacturing Technology includes theory and practice. It also makes the students’ learning more efficient, and brings several benefits for the learning of content, mainly in theoretical disciplines, such as philosophy and literature which can be associated, in an interdisciplinary way, to the practice of Clothing Manufacturing. Our main objective is to discuss the issue of recycling electronic waste from the point of view of each of these subjects. For this purpose, the Literature and Philosophy teachers suggested classroom discussions on this topic. Simultaneously, the topic was discussed by the Clothing Manufacturing Technology teacher with the students of the 3rd year of the Clothing Manufacturing Technical High School. In the end, the issue was discussed, in an integrated manner, during an event held on the IFPI campus, with the presentation of clothing lines, in which parts of electronic materials were used, thus stimulating the students’ reflection concerning a current and relevant theme in their lives.
