Call for Papers - Dossier Psychoanalysis and Politics: the insistence of the real

01-12-2022

The journal Estudos e Pesquisas em Psicologia, from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ), classified as A2 in Qualis-CAPES (Brazil), electronic ISSN 1808-4281, opens a call for submission of articles for the Dossier Psychoanalysis and Politics: the insistence of the real. The Dossier aims to disseminate debates around the binomial Psychoanalysis and Politics. Even if on different axes, the binomial maintains the Lacanian proposal as a horizon according to which “everything depends on whether the real insists” (1974/n.p.); insistence that distances the psychoanalytic field from the success of meaning and launches it towards the problematic of failure, of the impossible that inhabits the social bond. The insistence on the real as the starting point of the Dossier highlights the contingency of the responses that we, psychoanalysts, propose to the contemporary problems that will be the axes of this publication, and that summon Psychoanalysis to a position that must not dispense with Politics. We propose, therefore, to start from the following themes: Psychoanalysis and its Policy towards collectives and social movements; the pertinence of the binomial when one aims to discuss gender and its dissidence in the present; the possibilities of questioning raciality, social policies and inequalities; the advances of capitalism and its aggravation with neoliberalism; fascism and mass movements in Brazil; the binomial interface with decolonial studies. The purpose of this Dossier is to bring together scientific articles that address issues that, in contemporary times, involve the psychoanalytic field in an articulation that cannot do without politics. Taking it from the perspective of the insistence of the real implies situating the urgency that requires us to position ourselves.

The Dossier will be number 4 of volume 23, scheduled for publication in December 2023, containing between 15 and 23 articles. Texts will be accepted in Portuguese, Spanish and English, written according to the rules of the American Psychological Association (APA) and with a maximum of 25 pages. Important: Submissions will not be accepted from authors who have published or have accepted manuscripts in Estudos e Pesquisas em Psicologia for the period between November 2021 and November 2022. It is also not allowed for an author or co-author to submit more than one manuscript for the Dossier. The other guidelines are available at http://www.revispsi.uerj.br/
