Abstract

This paper intends to show how the subjectRural/Agricultural Geography can becomemore attractive and usefitl to the students.Economic growth and the new developmentparadigm give a new role to the rural/agricultural amas. The rural poverty remainsalthough as a fact for a great part of theworld. The analysis of the myriad faces ofrural poverty and of the interlinked processesresponsible for it, must be enphasized. Thenational and international action ofagribusiness,- the Land tenure systems and theexploitation of the peasants by the landowners(capitalistic and non-capitalistic forms of landrent) and for the traders, demand new policiesfor rural areas (land reform, appropriatetecnologies, environment protection etc).
