GEOGRAPHIC EDUCATION, CITIZENSHIP AND CITIZENSHIP:
discursive disputes in the Base Nacional Comum Curricular (Brazil)
Abstract
The text aims to discuss how the signifiers of citizen and citizenship are operationalized in Geographic Education, mainly based on themes related to the city. Based on the foundations of Ernesto Laclau's Discourse Theory, we tension the curricular documents, specifically the "Base Nacional Comum Curricular," to understand that both signifiers are operationalized as nodal points that hegemonize meanings specific to school geographic knowledge.
