Abstract

The article discusses structural aspects of a crisis in the interfederative relations in Brazil which were aggravated by conjunctural aspects of the economic crisis in 2014. The municipal finance data provided by the National Treasury Secretariat (FINBRA) were used to locate the structural dimension of this crisis, taking into account municipalities situation. The cyclical dimension was analyzed based on Rio de Janeiro State municipalities financial data, although recognizing the crisis severity in the mentioned State among the other federation units.
