This paper is based on the new teaching principles concerning grammar, in the frame ofcommunicative approach and the utilization of communicative function of language.Specifically, we present the first results of a teaching test on students of an elementarygreek school. There are involved pupils of the fifth class of the 2nd elementary schoolof New Erithrea in Attica. Children received extracts from literary and other textsincluded in the referential discourse and especially in the kind of description.ΤΟ ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΟ ΒΛΕΜΜΑ – O OLHAR GREGO - No.1/2016 – UERJ - Brasil18The basic position emerging concerns the utilization of authentic texts producednaturally and directly reflect the mechanisms by which grammatical phenomena servecommunication.As concluded, the acquisition of grammar is a multilayered and complex process.Νew knowledge is not mechanically added to the existing one, but is incorporated in away that contributes to the reorganization of the previous experience of the student andrebuilds the whole grammatical system. This means that the assessment of grammarcannot be reduced to a limited phenomenon. On the contrary, the development of thisgrammatical phenomenon in a communicative use is required.Downloads
