Abstract

In a society where data plays an increasingly central role, this paper presents an experiment based on the construction of a fictional narrative and the creation of artifacts that serve as devices for reflecting on the issues of our information society. We demonstrate the potential of using speculative methodologies as a critical procedure and seek to contribute to how fiction can collaborate in reflecting on data through art and design. We discuss artists and designers who explore the fictionalization of the body and describe and analyze the creation process of the Absorpta project.
