This article is part of an investigation that has been under development for a few years by me and other researchers and which aims to present an analysis of the construction and implementation of public policies aimed at LGBTQIA+ populations in the State of Mato Grosso. This research starts from a qualitative approach using a set of different methods and techniques that involve everything from documentary analysis (mainly government documents); but also participant observation systematically carried out at meetings of the Municipal Council for Attention to Sexual Diversity of Cuiabá (CMADS). In the analysis I present in this proposal, I focus in particular on the process of construction, implementation and operation of CMADS since its foundation, pointing out the main debates and issues that appeared in the daily life of this Council, I also seek to provide a general overview of the political-social scenario of Mato Grosso, relating it to the actions of the LGBTQIA+ movement in the city and State of Mato Grosso.
