Heteronormativity in the group and issue of sexual and reproductive health policies: a first theoretical discussion
Keywords:
heteronormativity, policies, reproduction, sexualityAbstract
This paper aims to carry out a first theoretical discussion over the question: How the heteronormativity influences the object and the target group of sexual and reproductive health policies? In order to answer this question, some aspects must be addressed; first, it is necessary to problematize the heteronormativity as a factor which intervenes in the management of sexuality as a policy issue. This is because sexuality influences the discussions immerged in policies, the focuses taken and the topics which are presented by actors. In this sense, the historical perspective presents an opportunity to review the conceptual transformations and policy’s elements. Afterwards, the paper takes a deeper look into how heteronormativity suggests a kind of target group and a way to treat its behavior.
