Abstract

This study is based on the visual analysis of small paintings offered to Saints as payment for the blessings received. Such painting date back from the eighteenth century and were produced in the gold mining region of Minas Gerais. These exvotos are evidence of the relationship between the colonial period man and the divine universe.
