Abstract

In this paper I propose a reflection on the ethnographic experience of Edison Carneiro in Salvador (Bahia), during the 1930s when, through meetings and negotiations with the holy fathers and mothers of nagos, bantos or caboclos candomblé, he wrote his own history of Bahia's candomblé.
