Abstract

Through the approach of geohistory, an understanding of society in the genealogical processes of power was sought. From the etymology, the empirical nature of geohistory is intended as an Earth-eye, seeing space-time in a panoptic experience. Following this, two paths opened up: 1) that of the Panopticon as a circular architecture to the disciplinary society and 2) that of the disciplinary society to the panoptic society. Thus, the Panopticon, between the central tower that sees everything and the prison, in centrifugal cells, that sees nothing, gives itself as a functionality to capitalism to extrapolate production and consumption. To this day, the panoptic society is guided by the propulsion of globalization whose heart is cyberspace, the virtuality of digital space. We arrive at the empire of the eyes, in the judgments of distinction and similarity, which configure conflicting and vigilant structures. The geopanopticon is also admitted in the macrophysical constitution of the conversion between knowledge (through information) and power (through control); that is, multipanopticon of global society. Through critical thinking was aimed at the social mechanisms that control bodies and souls.
