Tateando pesquisas de políticas sociais e favelas:

um panorama das teses e dissertações (2013-2023) no Brasil

Abstract

Faced with the historical needs of Brazilian favelas, as well as the actions of public authorities through specific policies for the respective territories. The article aims to present an overview of academic production present in theses and dissertations between the years 2013 and 2023 on the topic involving favelas and public policies in Brazil. In the methodological path, the basis of bibliographical research is the Catalog of Theses and Dissertations of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES). After selecting the texts, the data was processed and the policies were categorized by content in order to interpret the perspectives of research related to public/social policies in the context of favelas. From the analyzes it can be seen that scientific work on this topic is concentrated in the southeast region, especially in the Rio-São Paulo axis. Furthermore, it is noted that the texts have in common the concern with the infrastructure and insertion of the favela and its residents in the urban context. The discussion about favelas is old, but still effervescent, which is why scientific works size up the discussion today.
