The “neofanfarras” from Rio de Janeiro suggest new ways and rhythms of inhabiting the city, breaking with the programmed daily life and commodified urban logic. They exercise the right to the city, as elaborated by Henri Lefebvre and rescued by David Harvey, while proposing the active role of the population in the production and transformation of urban space. The objective of this work is to identify the spatial distribution of “neofanfarras” presentations in Rio de Janeiro, highlighting the public spaces occupied by the movement. Based on temporal and spatial parameters, four areas of concentration were highlighted, as their occurrence in neighborhoods and Administrative Zones. Furthermore, variations were observed as the frequency and location of these presentations when compared annually. Finally, it shows the success of the movement in occupying the streets after the covid-19 pandemic.
