Resumo
Neste artigo, abordam-se as controvérsias acerca do escravismo contemporâneo, em confronto com a realidade do Estado de Rondônia. Defende-se que sua efetiva erradicação na região pressupõe atuação articulada de instituições públicas e privadas, com protagonismo do Ministério Público do Trabalho como articulador social. Adota-se o método de pesquisa qualitativo, com utilização de técnicas quantitativas.

Abstract
In this article, it is presented the controversy about slavery in its modern configuration, against the reality in Rondônia. It is defended that its effective eradication in the region presupposes articulated actuation of public e private institutions, with proeminence of the Public Ministry as social articulator. It is adopted the qualitative style of reserarch and the quantitative techniques.
