Resumo
Os países da América Latina tem formações sociais e históricas muito semelhantes, independentemente de ter sido colonizada por Espanha, Portugal, Inglaterra, Holanda ou França. A substituição de povos e de natureza é a marca dessa colonização. Além dos povos indígenas outros povos se constituíram no processo colonial. Os afro-descendentes resistentes à escravidão formaram povos, os quilombos. No século XX passou a haver uma unidade de povos resistentes que promoveu significativa mudança nas estruturas jurídicas na América Latina e nas normativas internacionais.

Abstract
The Latin America’s countries are very similar social and historical formations, regardless of whether it was colonized by Spain, Portugal, England, Holland or France. The substitution of peoples and nature is the mark of this colonization. Further to the indigenous peoples, other peoples were constituted in the colonial history. Afro-descendants resistant to slavery formed peoples, the ‘quilombos’. In the twentieth century came to be a unit of resistant peoples that promoted a significant change in legal structures in Latin America and international regulations.
