TEORIAS DA SEMIÓTICA E CULTURA ORGANIZACIONAL: ESTUDO EM UMA INSTITUIÇÃO MILITAR DO EXÉRCITO BRASILEIRO

Resumo
Buscou-se neste artigo, a partir de teorias da semiótica e de percepções dos integrantes de uma
organização militar, valores organizacionais e culturais que orientam o comportamento cotidiano da
organização. O estudo teve um delineamento qualiquantitativo (misto) e utilizou um instrumento de
pesquisa já validado por estudos anteriores (Escala de Valores Organizacionais – EVO), porém, adaptado
e orientado por meio de teorias da semiótica. O lócus da pesquisa empírica foi uma Organização Militar do
Exército Brasileiro e os resultados evidenciaram, segundo o universo simbólico dos seus integrantes, um
conjunto de valores que sinalizam o comportamento e a cultura organizacional desta importante instituição
nacional.

SEMIOTIC AND THEORIES OF ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE:
A STUDY IN A MILITARY INSTITUTION OF BRAZILIAN ARMY
ABSTRACT
This Article is to demonstrate, from the theories of semiotic and from members’ perceptions of a military
organization, organizational and cultural values that guide the daily behavior of the organization. The
study had a (mixed) quality and quantitative design and using a research tool for already validated by
previous studies (Scale Organizational Values - SOV), however, adapted and directed by theories from the
semiotics. The locus of the empirical research was a military organization of the Brazilian Army and theresults showed, in the symbolic universe of its members, a set of values that indicate the behavior and
organizational culture of this important national institution.
