Abstract

CULTURAL COMPLEXES AND MORAL DEVELOPMENT IN BRAZIL

Abstract: Slavery generated immoral customs such as, for example, racial and social class prejudice, in addition to corruption, which are rooted in our culture since Brazil became a colony. Therefore, the purpose of this article is to understand the reasons why our country maintains these customs until the present day. For this, it will be approached in the light of Carl Gustav Jung's theory of complexes, later expanded by Thomas Singer and Samuel Kimbles with the concept of cultural complex. We intend to evaluate these immoral customs as cultural complexes in Brazil, signaling their origins and pointing to the country's moral development as a solution to minimize them.

Keywords: Cultural complexes. Slavery. Prejudice. Moral development. Brazil.
