Abstract

Abstract: This research aimed to understand how mental health care is provided for adolescents who abuse alcohol and other drugs at CAPS AD III in Palmas, TO. To this end, qualitative research was carried out using semi-structured interviews with professionals who make up the multidisciplinary team in this service. For data analysis, Bardin's Thematic Analysis was chosen, showing that the provision of care is individualized, with an emphasis on medical and psychological care. Furthermore, the demand for care for adolescents at CAPS AD III goes through the formulation of demands from the Socio-Educational Service Center, and not from the adolescents. The study also indicated a weakening in networking, with centralization in CAPS AD, which makes interdisciplinary work and the materialization of the expanded clinic difficult. Finally, the main barrier to working in an intersectoral way elucidated by this study is due to the heterogeneity of discursive fields regarding adolescence, and the difficulty in listening to the adolescent subject himself. It is emerging that CAPS, as a service that organizes mental health care, takes its place at the table and invites the care sectors to build this intersectoral network and, thus, build the discursive field of the network and not of isolated sectors.
