CORPORATE EDUCATION: A STUDY ON SKILLS DEVELOPMENT IN ELETROBRÁS

Abstract

 Organizations have realized that their efforts should focus on their core competencies, and for the development of these skills is necessary that there are people, which must be managed so that there is a constant learning. The management of these people will efficiently develop personal skills in line with the organizational skills demanded, which must be aligned with organizational strategies. While there are organizations that still see people as resources, many realized that human capital is acquired through formal and informal education, and that builds true competitive advantage, since the skills developed can be aligned with the organization's strategic goals. In this context, the highest level of an organization - the strategic level - there is the concept of corporate education, it is through it that will promote the development of the employees of organizations, increasing human capital and consequently organizational competitiveness.  The corporate education, understood as a coordinated practice of people management and knowledge management and guided by business strategy and has been part of organizations in Brazil and worldwide. From the corporate education, the concept of corporate university - UC, which focuses primarily on managing organizational knowledge, promoting learning for all employees of the organization, in line with the objectives established in organizational strategic planning. One advantage of UC is the spread of culture and ethical values to the stakeholders of the organization by managing people and knowledge. It is in this context that the present article, which aims to analyze the importance of corporate education developed in a UC as a way of skills development aligned with strategies, through the theoretical study on the subject of the case and the Corporate University Eletrobrás System - UNISE.
