Abstract

The remains derives from any symbolic operation performed by the subject. It is both what causes it and what also destroys any project of wholeness.  The effects of such operation are seen in every movement toward the realm of the social tie. This paper outlines the importance of the rest as a concept that expresses the radicalism of the subject before the malaise that accompanied him as a result of being trespassed by the language.  The being of language is the being of the sense, but it also the being of finitude. These statements are exemplified nowadays by the new releases from the movies with images of hyper-reality of terror that break through the known and familiar world. The intention is to bring to the discussion the magnitude of the rest as a fundamental concept of psychoanalysis and its inescapable presence in the actions of the discourses and technique which try to apprehend it at all costs.

Keywords: remains, wholeness, images of terror
