Abstract

From a brief passage in the work of Waly Salomão, this paper tries to find some elements to answering the questions: “What is the place of the poet?” and “What is the poetry’s role in society?”. Confident on the power of the word as the lever of the world, we launch a look on poetry underlining its function of setting up new possibilities of being in the world. Through the act of creation, the poet produces desorganizing outbursts, operating a language’s renewal. Also the psychoanalytical act, by making a cut in the subject’s chain of discourse, provides the necessary displacement to bring about something new, a new desire, as pointed by Lacan, by developing the formulation of the psychoanalytical act. On this point we can propose some articulations between poetry, utopia and psychoanlysis.

Palavras-chave: poetry, analytical act, utopia, Waly Salomão
