Os significados submersos das orcas residentes: revisitando o conceito sistêmico-funcional de protolíngua na relação língua e sentido

A literatura sistêmico-funcional afirma que animais além dos humanos possuem uma “protolíngua” (Halliday, 1978; Martin, 2013). Por sua vez, o sistema humano adulto seria o único que teria evoluído o estrato do contexto, contudo, uma leitura dos trabalhos sobre orcas contesta tal conclusão (Whitehead; Rendell, 2014). Para avaliar a hipótese de que a língua humana é única na característica de ser o único sistema semiótico denotativo (Martin, 1992), faz-se importante que sejam apresentadas evidências. Para isso, este trabalho se debruça sobre pesquisas recentes acerca da complexidade sociossemiótica das orcas, focando em conceituar o sistema linguístico na relação língua e sentido. Por fim, busca motivar pesquisas teóricas e empíricas introduzindo os conceitos teóricos de criptossemiose e tradução interespecífica.
