Abstract

This work aims to investigate Navigium Isidis, the festival dedicated to the Egyptian goddess Isis, held within the sphere of her Mediterranean cult. For this, I use as sources the material culture of Pompeii and the surrounding areas of Rome, and with input from reception and archeology studies, I seek to find the ways in which this celebration dialogues with the Egyptian origins of the goddess.
