Abstract

The meeting between Roma and Carthage generated cultural exchanges, but also deaths and destruction. Carthage, the powerful city-state of the Mediterranean, was not only destroyed territorially in 146 BC, but mainly shattered in its existence. Could we classify the physical destruction of the city of Carthage, followed by the disappearance of its history as a Carthaginian ethnocide?
